Construction of the house, by Ron Wallace, was completed in 1996. Wallace is one of the premier builders on Orcas Island. Canadian lumber was specially imported for the job, and a large portion of the house is paneled with western red cedar boards. All windows are double paned, with red oak frames, all bedroom closets plus the linen closet are lined with aromatic cedar.
